Never Miss an Event!
The easiest way to get started in the club is to join our Discord, and giving yourself the @LFG [🔍 Looking For Games] role in #Channels and Roles by selecting the Tabletop Role Playing Games option. This will allow our members to ping you, and everyone else looking for games, whenever they make an announcement in the #game-announcements channel.
In addition, we have members host open-tables most hangouts. These open-tables allow anyone to walk in, and walk out, at any time. No commitment or sign-up is needed. Open-tables will typically be listed in the #game-announcements channel as well as having their own dedicated channel in the Games category, however, please do not hesitate to ask for more help in the #general or #exec-requests channels.
Our Hangout locations change term-to-term, if we're in-between terms please be patient as our exec team books the rooms, else you can find the Hangout Rooms and times in the Discord, Instagram, or even this site's homepage or events tab. Our Hangouts are open to everyone, no sign up or payment is required to attend, just show up and have fun!
As an event is coming up, our exec team will post an announcement in our Discord's #announcements channel as well as our Instagram. These announcements will include details such as when and where, which game/system, and what theme/module, as well as including the sign up form for that event.
If a particular event has caught your eye, please don't hesitate to ping an exec and ask.
If you're looking to host your own Sci-Fi/Fantasy game and want to find players in WATsFiC, start by joining our Discord. Next, you want to find the #game-announcements or #board-games channel — in the pins you may find a template for game announcements — and post your game tagging the @LFG or @Board Games role.
You do not need to be a paid member, or an active member, to post your game in the club's Discord so long as you adhere to the following rules:
Rules and Notes:
Must adhere to University of Waterloo Policy 33 (https://uwaterloo.ca/secretariat/policies-procedures-guidelines/policy-33)
Games are run by individual members, WatSFiC does not prescreen or take liability for any games run outside of official club events
Club executives will not advertise individual games as executives or club events (they are free to advertise their own games as individual members of the club)
Game runners are allowed to deny player entry (if a conflict arises because of this please contact an exec to arbitrate)
Please include as applicable:
